Joshua “Jag” Garcia is an American celebrity chef, singer-songwriter, musician and mixed martial artist.

He was born in New York City in 1981 and was raised in the South Bronx until the age of 12. 

In 1992 his family relocated to Bergenfield New Jersey where he studied martial arts and music.  

In 1999, Joshua joined the United States Marine Corp where he studied to become a chef.

He was formally trained at The New York Restaurant School and graduated from the Quartermasters academy in Fort Lee, Virginia for culinary arts. 

He studied abroad in New York City for 5 years, learning the secrets of the restaurant business and various ethnic cuisines. 

In 2007 Joshua gained notoriety as Chef Jag on season 3 of the Next Food Network Star. He was one of two contestants remaining of 11 culinary artists selected to compete for their own show on Food Network. Since Food Network he regularly frequents various food and wine festivals as both a foodie, guest chef and culinary personality. 

He has overseen the creation of recipes and culinary instruction for various televised events, restaurant concepts and non-profit organizations including Moffitt cancer center, Semper Fidelis veteran health & wellness and The Tampa bay Wine and food Festival. 

Today Chef Jag is Executive Chef owner of upcoming food-lounge concept Jag's, Tavern on the square and Nogi Shoot Box MMA in Ocala, Florida. He resides with his Wife Layla Ahmad Garcia and 3 Children (Canaan Antonio Avah Sarai and Noah Mikael). His First book, “Hispano” is currently in the works and will explore a modern take on the culinary heart of Hispanic culture and cuisine.
